I could more easily survive withought my eyesight, as I couldn't last without music, or the sounds of nature, F1 cars, etc...

Beethoven wrote some of his most beautiful works when he was deaf. The music is in your heart.

Imagine all the beautiful women walking this earth and you would miss them all. Actually it would be great to be able to see them and don't have to listen to them all the time. :D

I think it would be ncer to touch them,(the same goes for females looking at/touching men- no biases getting started by this cowboy!) than be able to look at them. You could also still hear if you were touching appropriately or not!

just more food for thought...

Well there was never any discussion about giving up touching, tasting or smelling ;)

I don't want to go without either, but if I lose my sight I won't have to look at all the idiocy in the world.

Sight of course!

Postby Oliver » Thu Aug 03, 2006 11:41 am

Hi there!

This is a familiar question for me, as I asked and still ask friends of mine. As I am addicted to music and sounds, sight is my choice!

I could still "enjoy" things like TV, movies, by only hearing them. Only seeing them ... makes no sense for me.

But 'til when (?), I am happy with both of them! :D

I'm legally blind (not completely blind, just very visually impaired) so I am a bit biased here but I pick hearing. I can't imagine being without music, watching action movies without hearing powerful explosions or gunfire, walking down the street and not hear birds singing, cars driving or the wind howling.

But of course it would be the best to have both hearing and sight. I have faith that science will advance stem cell research far enough to benefit me (it is the only way to reverse the degradation of the retinas in my eyes).

Do you use a screen reader Bjossi?

Nope, but I do use some other accessibility features like zoom and color changes (I find it much easier to read white on black than vice versa). Though I probably will need a screen reader within two or three decades, depends on the degradation rate.
